Indianapolis, IN – Ivy Tech Community College announced it has joined the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Incubator Network, an initiative to design and build AI incubators in community colleges and technical schools across the country.
The initiative, launched back in January, is a partnership between the American Association of Community Colleges, Intel, and Dell Technologies that supports the demand for higher education AI technical and literacy skills, recruits educators at community colleges to join the AI Incubator Network, and expands Intel’s AI for Workforce program by supporting them with the tools they need to teach AI courses.
According to Intel, the demand for AI skills is expected to grow exponentially over the next three years and drive a need for workers to learn new technical skills across industries. It is expected to play a massive role in the future of education by delivering personalized instruction, tracking data, customizing learning management systems, and offering adaptive learning.
“By joining the AI Incubator Network, we’re demonstrating to students, employer partners, and key stakeholders that we’re invested in Indiana’s future,” said Shabbir Qutbuddin, assistant vice president of Ivy Tech’s School of Information Technology. “Through this initiative, we look forward to accelerating Ivy Tech’s work in this field, in addition to providing more students with the curriculum, tools, and resources to be successful contributors to the world of AI.”
The AI Incubator Network and AI for Workforce programs now include over 70 community colleges in 32 states collaborating on AI curriculum, teaching best practices and lab development.
