Ivy Tech Community College’s Anderson Campus is pleased to announce that its Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program has been awarded Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®).

This important milestone allows the program to begin enrolling students for a Fall 2026 start. Candidacy status signifies that the program is making satisfactory progress toward full accreditation and meets ACOTE’s standards required at this stage of development.

The OTA Program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to support occupational therapists in helping individuals achieve independence and improved quality of life through therapeutic interventions.

“We are excited to move forward with this next phase and look forward to preparing future occupational therapy assistants to serve their communities with excellence,” said Dr. Jess Littrell

Full accreditation will be pursued as the program continues to meet ACOTE requirements and progresses through the accreditation process.
