Two TRIO students at Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne have received scholarships from Indiana TRIO. Joshua Keeler and Bry Corcran were two of only nine students in Indiana who were awarded the college-level scholarships.
“TRIO has been my guiding light, providing unwavering support and invaluable resources throughout my educational journey,” says Corcran. “It has empowered me to achieve my academic goals and instilled a deep sense of confidence and purpose. I am profoundly grateful for the transformative role TRIO has played in my success.”
Corcran was honored with the $500 Textbook Scholarship, and Keeler received the $750 Part-Time College Indiana TRIO Scholarship. These awards will go towards the 2024-25 academic year.
“TRIO programs leverage national and state financial aid dollars already on the table to provide the supports that ensure student success,” said Beth Clemens, director of Ivy Tech Fort Wayne’s TRIO Student Support Services. “We are very proud of these TRIO students who went the extra mile in securing additional funding for their education.”
TRIO’s mission is to provide services to 160 first-generation, low-income students with or without disabilities as they work toward a degree or certificate at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne, with a goal of achieving completion within a four-year period.
