The IvyCARES team reached and surpassed its goal of raising $5,000 for its food pantry through Meijer’s 2023 Simply Give Campaign!
Meijer shoppers at 5550 N. Keystone Avenue could donate directly to Ivy Tech Indianapolis IvyCARES Food Pantry between April and July by purchasing $10 Simply Give donation cards.
Our campus and local community raised a total of $5,730, surpassing our goal of $5,000 and significantly raising the bar from last year’s total received by over $2,000, according to Stephanie Massing, the interim director of IvyCARES.
“It feels great that the Ivy Tech community came together to help us reach our goal,” Stephanie Massing, the interim director of IvyCARES, said. “We could not have done it without our great staff and faculty caring enough about our students and their basic needs!”
Altogether, Meijer’s Simply Give Campaign resulted in over $2.76 million in donations to help feed hungry families across the Midwest. Since its inception in 2008, the campaign has generated more than $83.5 million for food pantries.
The money raised from our designated Meijer location will go toward filling the Downtown Indianapolis IvyCARES food pantry. The campaign is wrapping just as a new semester commences, and Massing and her team are filling the pantry’s shelves for students needing food.
“The money allows us to get things that are more nutritious and healthier for our students so they can do their best in class,” Massing said.
Thank you for joining us as we work to help end hunger. We couldn’t do this without your support and partnership!
