Tutor Job Responsibilities:
- Provide one on one and small group tutoring sessions in assigned subject areas.
- Assist students with coursework, study strategies, concept development, and academic skill building.
- Promote academic integrity and model responsible academic behavior.
- Help students build confidence and develop effective study skills.
- Collaborate with faculty and LRC staff to align tutoring support with course expectations.
- Maintain accurate tutoring records in TracCloud.
- Refer students to additional academic resources when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
$15.00 an hour - up to 28 hours per week
Eligible for fee remission (tuition) of 6 credit hours per semester after 6 months of active employment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B or higher in at least one college level math or English course.
- Ability to tutor students in common entry level math and or composition related coursework
- Additional tutoring capability in science, technology, or other academic disciplines is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, student centered approach.
- Dependable, professional, and emotionally mature.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a learning support team.
