Electric Lineworker Academy

The Electric Lineworker Academy is an intensive skills-based training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the electric utility industry. The program emphasizes safety, hands-on technical skills, and workforce readiness through a structured progression from foundational safety training to core lineworker competencies.

CDL-A

FMCSA rules, driver roles, vehicle systems and controls, straight line control, wide turns, progressive shifting, speed and space control, backing, docking, defensive driving urban/rural/highway, merges, rail crossings, work zones, hazard and emergency procedures, trip planning with scale and clearances.

OSHA and Electrical Transmission and Distribution Partnership

OSHA 10, energy industry fundamentals of generation, transmission and distribution, energized work awareness, fall protection, PPE, grounding/bonding.

Climbing, Rigging, Medical and Work Zone Safety

CPR and First Aid, AED and traffic control/flagger, climbing techniques, body positioning, tie off, ladders and alternate access, knot tying

Distribution Systems and Ground Operations

Ground crew coordination with aerial crews, conductors, insulators, hardware, neutral/phase separation, grounding/bonding procedures, intro to transformers and installation principles

Overhead Line Construction

Pole framing, crossarm installation, stringing, sagging, tensioning conductors, installing/grounding transformers, tool inspection and maintenance

Emergency Response and Advanced Skills

Storm restoration protocols and safety, pole-top and bucket rescue, introduction to underground distributions systems Job readiness with training on resume preparation and job connections provided.
