This introductory robotics course equips learners with the foundational skills needed to safely operate and program industrial robots in a manufacturing or automation environment. Students will learn to identify safety hazards, perform proper startup and shutdown procedures, and create and execute basic robot programs in both teach and playback modes. The course also covers key programming concepts such as tool center point definition, coordinate systems, subroutine structures, and editing programmed positions. Additional hands-on training includes managing inputs and outputs, recovering from common faults, and backing up and restoring robot programs.
