Ivy Tech offers CDL training in partnership with DriveCo at three locations:
1. You must be at least 18 years old (21 years old to drive cargo across state borders).
2. You must pass the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) physical and drug screen.
3. You must have an active valid motor vehicle operator license for at least one year.
4. You must have the ability to read, speak, and write English well enough to pass the commercial driver’s license test and to perform your job duties: converse with the general public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make entries on reports and records.
5. Ability to pass the Class A CDL written exam at local BMV and obtain Class A CDL permit within the first 40-hours of class.
