What You’ll Learn

This five-week course serves as an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a holistic level and provides a few use cases on how to use AI in our day-to-day professional careers. The following aspects will be addressed throughout the lifespan of this course. At the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of AI and obtain hands-on experience with AI tools. 

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

1. Understand the basics of Artificial Intelligence
2. Recognize the difference between AI, Generative AI, and chatbot
3. Compare various open-source applications like ChatGPT, OpenAI, Midjourney, and many others
4. Explain how open-source applications can be applied through various scenarios
5. Illustrate mathematical computing using SciPy and NumPy
6. Understand the fundamentals of natural language processing and how it's generated

Class Details

This course is offered as a virtual, synchronous program. That means there are scheduled online lectures and interactive workshops. The course meeting will be bi-weekly in a virtual setting via Zoom.

Familiarity with basic programming concepts and data analysis is beneficial but not mandatory.
