Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers (AHA)

The AHA's BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

The AHA's BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

  1. High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  2. The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  3. Important early use of an AED Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  4. Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer
  5. CPR Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
