Entry Level HVAC Technician

This intensive, hands-on program prepares learners for immediate employment in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry. Over the span of 160-200 instructional hours, learners will master HVAC fundamentals, heat transfer, refrigeration cycles, electrical and control systems while practicing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on residential and light commercial equipment. Integrated safety training fulfills the OSHA 10 Hour Construction card requirements, ensuring learners can recognize job site hazards and apply best practices from day one. Students also learn EPA mandated refrigerant recovery and charging procedures, culminating in proctored exams for Section 608 Type I & Type II certification. Graduates exit the course with the technical skills, safety credentials, and environmental compliance needed to start work as entry level HVAC technicians, apprentice installers, or service assistants across a wide range of employers.

  • Fundamentals of HVAC Systems

    • Heat transfer principles, refrigeration cycles, and airflow dynamics
    • Identification and function of key components in residential and light?commercial equipment
  • Installation & Service Techniques

    • Piping, brazing, and leak?testing procedures
    • Start?up, troubleshooting, and preventive?maintenance practices using industry?standard tools
  • Electrical & Controls

    • Reading wiring diagrams, diagnosing control circuits, and safely working with 120/240V systems
    • Introduction to smart thermostats and basic building automation interfaces
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance

    • Completion of the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety curriculum hazard recognition, PPE, lockout/tagout, and job site best practices
    • EPA refrigerant regulations, recovery procedures, and environmental stewardship
  • Refrigerant Handling & Certification Prep

    • Hands?on recovery, recycling, and charging techniques
    • Exam preparation for EPA Section?608 Type?I & Type?II certifications
  • Customer Service & Professional Skills

    • Communicating technical findings to clients
    • Work?order documentation, ethics, and professionalism on the job site

By the end of this course you will be prepared to enter the workforce as an entry level HVAC technician with the OSHA 10?Hour card in Construction Safety and eligibility to obtain EPA Type I & II certification credentials that signal safety competence and regulatory compliance to prospective employers.

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
