OSHA 10-Hour Construction

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course introduces workers to the most common hazards found on construction sites and provides the foundational safety knowledge required under OSHA's construction standards (29 CFR 1926). This course emphasizes worker rights, employer responsibilities, and the identification and prevention of jobsite hazards.

Topics include:

  • Focus Four Construction Hazards (falls, electrocution, struck-by, caught-in/between)
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ladder and scaffold safety
  • Excavation and trenching basics
  • Tool safety
  • Hazard communication
  • Health hazards in construction (silica, noise, chemicals)

Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction completion card upon finishing all required training hours.

Upon successful completion of the OSHA 10-Hour Construction course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common hazards on construction sites
  • Explain worker rights under OSHA 29 CFR 1926
  • Apply basic hazard prevention and control methods
  • Recognize the purpose and proper use of PPE
  • Understand safe practices for hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolds
  • Describe basic requirements for fall protection, electrical safety, and hazard communication

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
