Commercial Drivers License (CDL-A) - Muncie Campus

Are you ready to earn your CDL Class A license?

Earning a CDL license for a Class A vehicle will allow you to drive a truck that is 26,001 pounds or more, including most tractor trailers. If you're towing another vehicle, that vehicle should weigh over 10,000 pounds. Because this definition includes so many commercial trucks, a Class A license is one of the most practical and popular licenses for new drivers.

This class prepares students for the written and practical portions of the State of Indiana's Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam. You will learn how to safely drive, operate, and back up a truck and trailer, complete a vehicle inspection, and gain a fundamental working knowledge of the trucking industry, including rules and regulations. The class prepares students for an entry-level position as a tractor-trailer driver with a trucking company.

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
