Employee Awards

Michele Harman

Staff Member of the Year: Michele Harman

Michele Harman exemplifies the very essence of this award through her unwavering dedication, integrity, and meaningful impact on those around her. She consistently goes above and beyond expectations, demonstrating not only exceptional professionalism but also a genuine commitment to uplifting others. Michele leads with both competence and compassion, creating an environment where people feel supported, valued, and inspired to do their best.

Faculty of the Year: Craig Sheaks

As a Program Chair and a photography professor, Craig brings so much energy and dedication to both his teaching and our program. He has a real gift for connecting with students and keeping them engaged. In his classes, students don’t just learn technical skills—they’re encouraged to be creative, take risks, and grow in confidence. He creates a supportive environment where students feel comfortable trying new ideas and pushing themselves further.

Faculty of the Year: Julie Allee

Julie exemplifies the very best of what it means to be an educator, combining intelligence, genuine warmth, and an unwavering commitment to the success of both her colleagues and her students. As Department Chair of General Studies, Julie has cultivated a deep and comprehensive understanding of the academic programs, certifications, and pathways available to students at Ivy Tech. Rather than keeping that knowledge to herself, she generously shares it with faculty members across the campus.

Student Advocacy: Daana Young

Daana is an inspiration to the campus community. In her role as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, she consistently goes above and beyond for students. Her dedication to students goes beyond a name on a page; she often takes time to learn their personal circumstances and works with them to find the best way to fund their college education.

Innovation and Impact: Mike Moseng

Earlier this year an electrical storm damaged the fire panel on the Elkhart Campus. Michael found a replacement fire panel online for less than $1000 and was able to install and program it four days later. The programming of the new panel was very intensive and time consuming. Doing this project in-house with Michael's skill set, the college was able to save over $50,000 and complete the project quickly.  If you have worked with or know Mike you know he brings care, thoughtful approach, and an innovative spirit to all he does.

Ivy Tech Spirit: Aaron Schneider

Aaron consistently shows up for campus activities with energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to serve wherever needed. Whether he is helping with event setup, organizing logistics, or going above and beyond by dressing up as characters such as the Elf during campus open houses, Aaron plays a key role in creating a welcoming and joyful atmosphere for everyone. His efforts are especially impactful for families and children, as he brings events to life in a way that makes them engaging, memorable, and inclusive. Aaron’s positive attitude and commitment help showcase the spirit of our campus and strengthen our connection with the community.
