Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (Refresher)

Stay licensed as an Asbestos Operator with this refresher training. Provided by EMI.

The Institute's approved refresher courses bring you up-to-date on changes in federal, state, and local regulations, provide details on state-of-the-art work practices, review the basic information included in the initial accreditation course, and offer participants an opportunity to raise questions and discuss common concerns with other asbestos professionals. To remain licensed/accredited to conduct asbestos abatement, inspections, or to prepare management plans, you must complete an approved refresher course in each specialty. The Institute courses are accepted in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and in all states that accept EPA-approved courses. Persons completing the course and attaining at least 70% on the course examination will be issued a certificate for completing the licensing/accreditation process. The examination and a review of the material covered in the initial course are a part of each course. It is important to complete your refresher training in a timely fashion. Indiana requires that you take refresher training within 18 months of the last valid training or re-take the initial course. (And, of course, you cannot perform any work while your license is expired.)

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
