Asbestos Project Supervisor (Refresher)

Project Supervisors play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant execution of asbestos abatement projects. To remain accredited, supervisors must complete annual refresher training equivalent to an EPA-approved course. While OSHA does not issue licenses, it does require ongoing training for workers, competent persons, inspectors, and supervisors and this course fully meets those requirements.

Delivered under the supervision of the Ivy Tech Environmental Management Institute (Indianapolis), this refresher keeps experienced project supervisors up to date on:

  • Recent changes to federal, state, and local asbestos regulations
  • State-of-the-art abatement and jobsite management practices
  • Key concepts and responsibilities introduced during initial supervisor accreditation
  • Practical solutions to real-world challenges through discussion with peers and instructors

Major Course Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this class, the student will be able to:

  • Updates to federal, state, and local asbestos regulations
  • Nature of asbestos and asbestos-containing materials (ACM)
  • Health effects of asbestos
  • Updated practices for recognizing and working with ACM
  • Updated requirements for asbestos waste disposal

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
